Independent annuity reviews

Before you sign it, have someone read it.

He came back and showed me the materials from the actual carrier, and some of the information in there was different from what I had been told by the other insurance salesperson. Jack researched it and explained there were three major deficiencies in that other policy.

Jill V. Jill V. Greenville, South Carolina

You opened more or less an insight to me walking towards a landmine. He told me 92, not knowing it's 82 — ten years from here I'm broke. I'm lucky you let me know the real picture of what really was being offered to me.

Joe H. Joe H. Reviewing an income proposal

I called him after I had spoken with at least a dozen other advisors over the last year or so… He wasn't just giving me a standard talk about the products that he knew and he liked. I'd certainly recommend him over anyone else I've spoken to.

Brad K. Brad K. California

After his thorough review, just through discovery, I found a lot of issues that I was not aware of that would be potentially not very beneficial for our investment retirement.

Margaret K. Margaret K. Palatine, Illinois

This is highly educational, it's really amazing. This has been the best one that I've sat through.

Olivia D. Olivia D. First annuity review

I was able to look at the marketplace and understand much better than I had in advance what the product landscape looks like, the pros and cons between one carrier and another… Would not have been able to get there on my own.

Anthony V. Anthony V. Had an advisor of his own

If you're hearing about an annuity from an annuity provider, they're only going to give you that information. Until you get an independent person, you don't get the overall picture.

Shawn H. Shawn H. Comparing annuities

The approach that most salesmen take, it's kind of like they're holding the menu and they get to pick what dishes they're going to dish out to you — and I don't like that. I like to look at the menu and pick out what dishes I want.

Kathleen B. Kathleen B. Income planning review

I'll certainly share this story: that you helped me out, avoided a real stupid mistake.

Pete R. Pete R. Existing annuity holder

You have been the best person that I've spoken to so far… because you're actually going through and helping me find the best product for me, whereas the other guys are just shooting off two products.

Jann R. Jann R. Comparing several advisors

It helped me to understand some of these things — what the participation rate means, and the different indexes and so on. It was very helpful.

Bart B. Bart B. Index annuity review

I appreciate working with you guys, I've enjoyed it so much. Thanks for your honesty. We feel very comfortable with you, Jack, in talking with you.

Recorded after their audits, in their own words.

Olivia D.

First annuity review

She had sat through other presentations before this one. Terminology first, products second.

Anthony V.

Had an advisor he liked

Watching the whole market re-rank in real time as the assumptions changed.

Chip C.

Second opinion on a contract

Came in ready to sign. Left happier with where he already was.

Pete R.

Existing annuity holder

Already owned the contract. The review caught a mistake before it cost him.

Jill V.

Greenville, South Carolina

Three deficiencies in the fixed index annuity she was about to buy, and a carrier brochure she had never been shown.

Margaret K.

Palatine, Illinois

Reviewed the contract she was days from signing and found issues she had not been told about.

Brad K.

California

Came to us after a dozen advisors in a year, and stayed because his questions got answered on the call.

Joe H.

Income proposal review

He was told the income ran to 92. The contract stopped it at 82. He had not signed yet.

Shawn H.

Comparing annuities

Learned what an income rider actually does, and that he could delay turning it on.

Kathleen B.

Income planning review

Wanted to pick from the whole menu herself rather than be handed two options.

Jann R.

Comparing several advisors

Others led with two products. She wanted to see why one beat the rest.

Mike & Sandra L.

Reviewing together

Went through it as a couple, at their own pace, until both were comfortable.

Frequently asked questions

The three we get asked most, before anyone books.

Is there really no charge for this audit?
Correct — no fee for the call or the written summary. We are only compensated if you choose, on your own, to purchase or exchange an annuity through us, in which case the issuing carrier pays us a standard commission. You never pay out of pocket.
Are you going to try to sell me something?
No. The audit is purely educational. If your current annuity contract holds up and protects your principal well, we will tell you exactly that — many audits end exactly that way. If it does not, we walk through your options. The decision is entirely yours.
What do I need to prepare for the call?
All you need is your most recent annuity statement or the contract paperwork you received from your agent. If you cannot find it, do not worry — just let us know and we can help you request it directly from the carrier.
